The best guys

Check these guys out! I was more “blah, blah, blah” on the copy and looking for links. Nice work, can’t deny that. Good to see who is pushing the limits. Wonder how many people on their team are bummed that they aren’t getting credit. But then again Steve Jobs created everything at Apple.

Wii U – B FAT

So it looks like Nintendo came up with an awesome Hospital Entertainment Unit. You can watch yourself die, play with med intake, get the nurse for help and even control your bed! I think you can probably control the TV as well as maybe watch it on there, but not sure. Cool thing is, you can take a daily snapshot with the front facing camera to see how you really look, condition wise.

I am assuming it’s made in the same factory as the Leapfrog Leapster, but just not colored:

Almost there.

I don’t know why, but I feel like this homeowner had an idea. It’s obviously pure frustration, but the idea of laying out type across the wood board was more effort than just buying a generic sign. Spray painted stencils would have set more of a “street” tone. Laying out letters shows effort and a vision.

Problem is the letter spacing is across the board. “A” for effort and vision… “C” for execution. “D” would be too harsh. “D” would have been given if the letters were tilted.

Free idea. #losing

With all of this Charlie Sheen talk, here’s a free shirt idea. This is bound to be made, but kids, you have it here first.

You can also parlay this into a war themed shirt too.

From Urban Outfitters to crappy Venice Beach / Jersey Shore T-Shirt shops, this will sell a ton, but only for a short amount of time.

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

So everyone I know on Facebook found this funny and genius. The press also thinks it’s so smart too!

I think it’s lame.

First off, Star Wars is a tired brand. Aren’t there other characters that would be more relevant for that kid to be pretending to be that a machine would magically turn on in front of him? All they really cared about it making that was an excuse to use the costume and the music. Second, cars have had the remote start for years. Third, there is something majorly wrong that I have yet to see anyone post anything about.

Why would you have a child in front of a car that is on? We have seen all of the reports on the Prius taking a life of its own without the driver able to control the speed. Yeah different car, different brand, but it’s a car nonetheless. I’m not part of some advocate group, really I couldn’t give a shit, but it’s sort of advertising 101, don’t put people in danger. I don’t know if anyone else would catch this, doubt it will kill the car sales, but it’s something I couldn’t avoid calling out.

Fourth point, are we that easily amused? Bring back the “where’s the beef” and “Whaaaaazzzzuuupppp” thought process into super bowl BIG GAME ads. Not some recycled bullshit nostalgia.

Fifth point, VW is a German car company. Theres that Hitler angle that we can go off on… Darth Vader did lead the “Storm Troopers”.

Blue Tarps and more.

Where is our visual pride?

I could start with “I don’t know where you live” but I can only assume this shit is everywhere. Blue fucking tarps. Growing up the word “Tarp” meant that you were laying down something to paint, covering a lawnmower or some machine in the rain or putting a “Tarp” under your tent when camping. Nowadays they’re not considered temporary fixes or a utility use moment.

It’s the same people that are building McMansions with styrofoam moulding and vinyl windows thinking this is acceptable.

Whats going to happen is, unfortunately this is going to be considered acceptable. Like Vinyl windows and plastic Home Depot chairs.

I just opened a can of worms on myself, but I’ll keep it short. I’m tired and you’re along for the ride on my trail of thought.

Ok. The white outdoor chairs are terrible. White was bad. They started to be a quickie chair to widely used at homes and and any other place that had a lot of seating needs. They look bad and don’t fit any era of good taste. Now they’re using the Martha Stewart / Dwell palette and weeding those into our view. Got it, people want colors and they’re more prone to buy that because it looks “cooler”. Make money. But where’s the denial of acceptance that this is ok? There’s a reason for iron and wood outdoor furniture. There’s a reason for wood folding chairs as your supplementary indoor expansion of seating option. Because it’s classy. Also lasts a long time. Folding chairs and tables passed down through families used to be sort of a tradition. Not a big one, but you get it and it’s useful. This Resin stuff is landfill. Who wants that crap.

In the end, I wish there was more attention to class and longevity on manufacturers. The price gap is too big now between what’s right and what’s wrong.

This is why I love the Internet #1

Check out: http://www.iambetterthanyourkids.com/

This is one of those sites that is always worth the yearly visit. It’s been around for so long, and to me, doesn’t get old. I just wish there were a ton more. I also smell coffee table book, but doesnt seem like he has been able to keep it going. If Shit My Dad Says got made into a stupid fucking lame TV show, this could go somewhere. Louis C K could do something with this guy.
